Sierra’s Story
Sierra Lincoln grew up in the Bay Area, spending her childhood in Woodside and San Jose CA.
Sierra was interested in math and science from a young age, constantly covering the windowsills of her parents’ house with science experiments and lego contraptions. Through middle school and high school Sierra continued on, competing in math and robotics competitions.
It was a natural next step when she began college at Caltech in Pasadena CA.
Alex’s Story
Alexander Bourzutschky was born in New York CIty and grew up in Potomac MD, outside of Washington DC.
Alex excelled in math and science, voraciously consuming math workbooks. Alex competed in math and chess competitions through elementary and middle school. In high school Alex’s interests turned to physics, and he represented the US team at the International Physics Olympiad in 2014, earning a silver medal.
It was no surprise when Alex chose to continue his pursuits at Caltech.
Our Relationship
We first met in late 2014 at a party at Caltech, and then reconnected in 2015 towards the end of the academic year. After a summer spent in different states with nearly daily video chatting, the beginning of the next school year found us inseparable.
After graduating Caltech in 2018, we moved to the Bay Area to both work at Google. Alex returned to academia in 2020, beginning his PhD at Stanford. We got engaged in 2024, and now finally are getting married in 2026!
